Shock as DCI officer loses pistol in unclear circumstances

Police in Migori have detained their colleague after he lost a firearm loaded with 15 bullets under unclear circumstances
James King’ori is said to have been in the company of a woman at a bar in Kehancha town on the night of August 10 when the incident occured.
Kuria West Sub-County Police Commander Reuben Bett said efforts were underway to retrieve the missing firearm.
“We are searching for the firearm. The Kehancha officer from DCI was on an assignment when he realized that the pistol was missing,” Mr. Bett said.

According to the Kuria West police boss, the DCI officer was alone at the time when he realized his pistol had gone missing.
He confirmed that they had arrested the officer who is currently out on bond.
